Prohibition on Inclusion of Adverse Information in Consumer Reporting in Cases of Human Trafficking (Regulation V)

The Bureau seeks comment on proposed amendments to Regulation V, which would establish a method for a victim of trafficking to submit documentation identifying any adverse item of information about the consumer that resulted from certain types of human trafficking and prohibit the consumer reporting agencies from furnishing a consumer report containing the adverse item(s) of information.

Request for Information Regarding the Small Business Lending Market

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB or Bureau) is seeking comments from the public about the small business lending market. Congress requires the CFPB to collect information about small business lending to help determine how well the market is functioning. Our Request for Information asks for feedback to help the Bureau better understand how to develop this data collection rule.

Request for Information Regarding Consumer Access to Financial Records

The Dodd-Frank Act provides for consumer rights to access financial account and account-related data in usable electronic form.  The CFPB is seeking comments from the public about consumer access to such information, including access by entities acting with consumer permission, in connection with the provision of products or services that make use of that information.

Truth in Lending (Regulation Z)

The Board and the Bureau are proposing to amend the official interpretations and commentary for the agencies’ regulations that implement the Truth in Lending Act.  The proposal would memorialize the agencies’ calculation method for determining the annual adjustment of the dollar threshold for exempt consumer credit transactions in years following a year in which there is no annual percentage increase in the CPI-W.
