State and local organizations are distributing money to help landlords and renters struggling to keep up with rent and other bills. Many programs take applications from both landlords and renters.

Tips to keep in mind
- Need help applying? Call (800) 569-4287 or find an approved housing counseling agency.
- Check back if you don't see a program that can help you right now. Some programs may only be closed temporarily while they process applications or until they get additional funds.
- After applying it may take several weeks to receive rental assistance funds. If you're worried about eviction, find out what to do next.
