Call for Papers
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) will host our sixth research conference on consumer finance at our headquarters in downtown DC in December.
We welcome and encourage the submission of a broad range of research work. Topics include, but are not limited to: competition and market power in the financial sector; technological innovation in financial markets and consumer impacts, including the use of big data and the presence of algorithmic biases; access to fair and affordable credit for traditionally underserved consumers and communities; spatial disparities across communities; enforcement mechanisms and their effectiveness including remedies to deter misconduct (monetary and non-monetary); climate change and household finance; the ways consumers and households make decisions about borrowing, saving, and financial risk-taking; how the salience of fees and terms affect choices; the structure and functioning of consumer financial markets; and relevant innovations in modeling or data.
We hope to receive submissions from the fields of economics, finance, law and economics, cognitive and behavioral science, among others.
