CFPB v. Meracord, LLC
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or CFPB, filed a civil action against Meracord, LLC.
The CFPB alleged that the defendant violated the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), and sections of the Consumer Financial protection Act of 2010. These laws prohibit unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices and protect distressed consumers from mortgage and debt relief scams.
Victim compensation
The CFPB contracted with Epiq Systems, Inc. to administer victim payments and answer questions from consumers about these payments and this case. This matter is now closed.
