CFPB v. JPay, LLC.

In October of 2021, the CFPB issued an order against JPay for violating Federal consumer financial protection laws, including for engaging in unfair, abusive, and deceptive acts and practices related to charging unavoidable and unauthorized fees.

Eligible consumers who received JPay prepaid cards upon release from prison or jail, and who were charged unavoidable or unauthorized fees, will receive a check. More information about the case is available at www.cfpb-JPay.org .

Victim compensation

The CFPB has contracted with Epiq Systems to administer payments for this case and answer consumers' questions.
