CFPB v. Howard Law

On March 27, 2019, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California entered a Consent Judgment after the Bureau filed suit against Vincent Howard, Lawrence Williamson, Howard Law, P.C., The Williamson Law Firm, LLC, and Williamson & Howard, LLP.

The CFPB filed sued against these defendants for allegedly: (1) violating the Telemarketing Sales Rule (“TSR”) by unlawfully charging upfront fees for debt relief services; (2) violating the TSR by making misrepresentations in advertisements for debt relief services; and (3) violating the TSR by providing substantial assistance to Morgan Drexen and Walter Ledda while knowing that Morgan Drexen and Ledda were violating the TSR in the same ways as the Defendants.

Victim compensation

The CFPB has contracted with Epiq Systems to administer payments for this case and answer consumers' questions.
