CFPB v. Corinthian Colleges, Inc. d/b/a Everest College, Everest Institute, Everest University, Everest University Online, Everest College Phoenix, Everest College Online, WyoTech, and Heald College

The Bureau sued for-profit college chain Corinthian Colleges, Inc. for its illegal predatory lending scheme.

The Bureau alleges that Corinthian Colleges advertised bogus job prospects and career services to encourage students to take out Genesis loans in order to pay for tuition costs; and used illegal tactics to get students to repay the loans. The Bureau is distributing monies to the Corinthian borrowers who have received only partial forgiveness of their Genesis debt in connection with a settlement with Aequitas.
