The CFPB Ombudsman’s Office celebrates Ombuds Day
Today, the CFPB Ombudsman’s Office is celebrating worldwide Ombuds Day!
What is Ombuds Day? It is a day to increase awareness and help educate about the ombudsman profession.
Who is celebrating Ombuds Day? Many organizations worldwide are celebrating—from all levels of government, private industry, and educational institutions—that have a resource dedicated to this unique approach to conflict resolution.
What is an ombudsman? An ombudsman helps organizations and the people who contact the ombudsman address issues that could impact the organization, and the community or stakeholders that it serves. An ombudsman employs innovative and creative ways to informally resolve conflict and advocates for fair process rather than someone’s desired outcome.
What does the CFPB Ombudsman’s Office do? We are an independent, impartial, and confidential resource that helps consumers, financial entities, and others resolve process issues arising from their interactions with the CFPB. In short, we advocate for fair process in consumer financial protection. Read our FAQs.
How are you adapting to the present time? We are nimble by design, which enables us to continue our work advocating for fair process in consumer financial protection during the significant events shaping this year.
You can reach us anytime, but we ask that you first try the regular avenues that the CFPB provides to resolve the issue unless you wish to reach us in confidence.
As you join us in celebrating annual Ombuds Day, we encourage you to learn more about how we may assist you. We look forward to hearing from you.
