Privacy Act Statement for SMS Campaigns

The information you provide will permit the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (Bureau) to send you reminders regarding steps to exit mortgage forbearance and avoid foreclosure.

The Bureau will collect your mobile telephone number to send you Short Message Service (SMS) messages containing step-by-step guidance and reminders to work with loan servicers and housing counselors to exit forbearance and avoid foreclosure.

Information collected by the CFPB is treated in accordance with the System of Records Notice (SORN) CFPB.011 CFPB Correspondence Tracking Database. Although the Bureau does not anticipate further disclosing the information provided, it may be disclosed as indicated in the Routine Uses described in the SORN. Direct identifying information will be kept private except as required by law.

This collection of information is authorized by Pub. L. No. 111-203, Title X, Sections 1011, 1012, 1013, codified at 12 U.S.C. §§ 5491, 5492, 5493.
