Privacy Act statement

5 U.S.C. 552a(e)(3)

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB, or “Bureau”) will use the information provided to process your whistleblower tip submission and determine appropriate investigative activities or actions to pursue the tip. The Bureau may also use the information you provide, including your personally identifiable information (PII), to contact you to obtain additional information related to the tip. Information about the tip submission, including PII you choose to provide, may be shared with other federal and state regulators as authorized and pursuant to the CFPB’s published Privacy Act System of Records Notice CFPB.004 Enforcement Database.

This collection of information is authorized by Public Law 111-203, title X, sections 1011, 1012, 1021 codified at 12 U.S.C. 5491, 5492, 5511.

Submitting a tip is voluntary. You are not required to share any PII; however, if you do not include that information, the Bureau may not be able to conduct appropriate follow up action or pursue the tip.
