Personal financial data rights

Resources to help industry understand and comply with the requirements of the personal financial data rights rule, which implements section 1033 of the Dodd-Frank Act.

On August 22, 2025, the CFPB issued an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking discussing possible amendments to the Personal Financial Data Rights Rule. The CFPB also announced its plans to issue a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to extend the compliance dates for the final rule. More information can be found here.
