Forty organizations join the 2019 Your Money, Your Goals cohort
As part of its mission to empower consumers to make more informed financial decisions, the Bureau works through established community organizations and service providers to integrate financial empowerment tools and services. Today we welcome 40 new organizations to the 2019 Your Money, Your Goals cohort. Since 2013, the Bureau has worked through this initiative to train more than 26,000 frontline staff and volunteers in organizations across the country.
Each year, organizations that are selected for the cohort receive training and technical assistance on how to use the Your Money, Your Goals tools to help them discuss money topics with the people they serve in their communities. You can read more about the work of organizations that participated in the 2016 and 2017 cohorts in the report, Your Money, Your Goals: Applications in the field .
Your Money, Your Goals is a comprehensive suite of resources and training geared to help non-profit and government agencies integrate financial empowerment into their existing service models. The newly revised Your Money, Your Goals toolkit is now accessible online and is also available for free in paper format. The tools educate frontline staff and volunteers on how to help the people they serve develop cashflow budgets, review credit reports, manage debt and more. Organizations can easily integrate any of these tools into their existing content to help people reach goals and achieve financial well-being.
The new cohort includes federal, state, and local government agencies; faith-based and social service organizations; organizations serving people with disabilities, native communities and those transitioning from prison; and financial providers.
