American Consumer Financial Innovation Network
The American Consumer Financial Innovation Network (ACFIN) is a network of Federal and State officials and regulators seeking to facilitate consumer-beneficial innovation through coordination.
Launched in September 2019, ACFIN benefits consumers by assisting Federal and State officials coordinate efforts to facilitate innovation and further shared objectives such as competition, consumer access, and financial inclusion.
In addition to promoting regulatory certainty for innovators, the network seeks to keep pace with market innovations and help ensure they are free from fraud, discrimination, and deceptive practices.
This enhanced Federal-State collaboration also promotes consistency in the regulation of consumer financial products and services, benefiting consumers and enhancing competition.
To further this partnership, ACFIN members are expected to hold joint Office Hours programs and share information on innovation-related matters, as appropriate. ACFIN members may also coordinate on No-Action Letters or Sandbox trials.
Federal and State regulators with authority over markets for consumer financial products and services may join ACFIN. Members meet at least once a year in an agreed-upon location and confer via phone at least quarterly.
