Who do I contact for help with a scam or fraud?

If you think you or someone you know is a victim of fraud or a scam, contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), your state attorney general, or your local police.

  1. Report the fraud or scam to  the FBI Internet Crimes Complaint Center at ics.gov or the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
  2. Contact your state attorney general. Visit the National Association of Attorneys General  website to find your state office.
  3. Contact your local police or sheriff’s office using their nonemergency phone number or website.
