Thirty-four organizations join the 2020 Your Money, Your Goals Cohort

The Bureau is working to expand the reach of Your Money, Your Goals to more providers serving economically vulnerable people across the country. Today we welcome 34 organizations into the 2020 Your Money, Your Goals cohort, including 25 nonprofits and nine government entities. Participants are located or headquartered in 22 states. At least 10 serve rural communities, and three have multi-state or national footprints.

Each year, selected organizations receive training and technical assistance to strengthen their ability to serve people in their own communities experiencing financial challenges. Increasing the capacity of organizations and their frontline staff will help consumers to make informed decisions to reach their own financial goals.

Cohort participants will focus on materials such as booklets on common financial stressors including debt, credit, savings and bills. Activities will incorporate the Bureau’s newest resources to support consumers who are working to build emergency savings. Many participants will also receive training on companion guides and tools to help them meet the unique needs of people with disabilities, Native communities and those involved in the justice system. You can read more about the experiences and impact of past cohort participants in the report, Your Money, Your Goals: Applications in the field .

The Bureau’s Office of Community Affairs offers additional trainings on tools and resources via webinars throughout the year. To receive webinar invitations and updates on financial empowerment resources, please join our mailing list by contacting YourMoneyYourGoals@cfpb.gov.
