Strategy, budget and performance

Mission

To regulate the offering and provision of consumer financial products or services under the federal consumer financial laws, to enforce federal consumer financial law fairly and consistently, and to educate and empower consumers making financial decisions.

Vision

To ensure all households have access to markets for consumer financial products and services that are fair, transparent, and competitive. In a market that works, the prices, risks, and terms of the deal are clear upfront so that consumers can understand their options and comparison shop, and where companies all play by the same consumer protection rules and compete fairly on providing quality and service.

We publish our budget, strategy, and regular updates to provide transparency and to hold ourselves accountable to the public.

Strategic plan

In compliance with federal law, we publish a five-year strategy for pursuing our mission and vision.

Budget and performance

Every year, we publish our most current budget estimates describing the resources needed to accomplish our goals.  We also measure our performance against our strategic plan, and explain how we will continue to make progress.

Financial reports

The financial reports describe how we have utilized our resources and the results of our financial operations.

Funds transfer requests

We receive funding from the Federal Reserve Board. We publish all our funds transfer requests and the Fed’s replies.
