CFPB data point: Frequent overdrafters

Our data point reports are prepared by our Office of Research to provide an evidence-based perspective on consumer financial markets, consumer behavior, and regulations to inform the public discourse. This sixth data point focuses on  “frequent overdrafters,” defined here as accounts with more than 10 overdrafts and non-sufficient funds (NSFs) combined in a 12-month period.
