We held an event in Chicago to launch our partnership with libraries.

The event featured remarks from Director Richard Cordray as well as Charles Evans, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and Keith Michael Fiels, executive director at the American Library Association. The event also included a panel discussion with CFPB officials, library representatives, and financial education experts.

We held a field hearing on workplace financial education in Atlanta. Part of America Saves Week, the hearing was an opportunity for us to get public input on promising practices for delivering financial education in the workplace.

The live event has now ended.

We held this event with the U.S. Departments of Labor and Treasury. It featured opening remarks, followed by panel discussions with academic and business experts about improving employee financial capability through workplace financial education. The hearing also featured remarks from Director Richard Cordray.

Today, we held “Protecting homeowners: New tools for empowering consumers and advocates” in Phoenix.

The live event has ended.

This event was a training for housing counselors, legal aid attorneys, and other advocates on the new mortgage servicing rules that take effect today. The training also featured remarks from Director Richard Cordray.

On Jan. 10, 2014, our new mortgage rules will take effect. That day, we’ll also host “Protecting homeowners: New tools for empowering consumers and advocates,” in Phoenix. This event will be a training for housing counselors, legal aid attorneys, and other advocates on the new mortgage servicing rule. You can watch the event live at 11 a.m. MST (1 p.m. EST) at consumerfinance.gov.

The event will feature remarks from CFPB Director Richard Cordray, followed by an in-depth training presentation by Cathy Mansfield.
