On the date I applied, I had recently moved from my prior XXXX XXXX in XXXX to XXXX, XXXX. \n\nOn XX/XX/XXXX, PenFed member services instructed me to provide copies of a drivers license, utility bill, and social security card. \n\nOn XX/XX/XXXX, I complied, providing a copy of my license, a utility bill, and my social security card. The drivers license I provided listed my address from my first military duty station ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX  ). \n\nOn XX/XX/XXXX, I was told I needed to provide a notarized id, utility bill and social security card. I called PenFed and asked why. The agent I spoke with told me my old XXXX  drivers license was insufficient due to reflecting my old address. He told me that due to the PATRIOT ACT I would need to get a XXXX drivers license reflecting my current address. \n\nI then obtained a XXXX drivers license. \n\nOn XX/XX/2018, I sent notarized copies of my utility bill, XXXX   drivers license, and social security card. I can provide these upon request ( not attaching now due to PII ). \n\nOn XX/XX/2018, after multiple phone calls over several weeks to PenFed, I was told PenFeds Financial Intelligence Department could not verify my documents. I asked for an explanation as to why they could not verify my documents, and I was told they could not tell me why. I asked if there was an appeals process, and was told there was no appeals process. I asked to speak to the individuals supervisor. The supervisor told me my XXXX  drivers license looked fake, and that was the reason for the denial. I made it clear I provided my XXXX driver 's license, and told the individual he essentially was accusing me of lying. This representative stated that he would make a note on the account stating this fact. I spoke with this gentlemen XX/XX/XXXX between XXXX XXXX  and XXXX XXXX XXXX. I then uploaded the driver 's license and social security card multiple times. The first time I was informed that the documents were blurred and then I was told that the background could not be white. I then uploaded the documents again. This time, despite being told it was not necessary to upload the utility bill, I received an email from the XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, stating \" In order for us to complete the verification of your address, please upload the most recent utility bill in full within the last XXXX  days. Utility bill must show your name, physical services address, and that its a current utility. '' This is contrary to what I had been told by another representative earlier. I explained to the representative that I did not have a utility bill to upload. Subsequently, I received multiple emails requesting Driver 's License, utility bill dated within the past XXXX  days, or current vehicle registration, current, non-expired U.S. government-issued ID, such as a driver 's license or passport, and Social Security Number . The Driver 's License and Social Security card were uploaded more than 9 times. Despite uploading these documents, and being advised that a utility bill was not needed, members of PenFed continued to request the same documents over and over again - to no end.
