Me and my wife have these cards and no one else. We have both had them in our possession and no one else had access to them. All of these charges were at several different XXXX XXXX XXXX around the XXXX XXXX area. Neither me or my wife have been to the XXXX XXXX area in several years and have never been to any of these XXXX XXXX XXXX \nI contacted the Master Card Citi Bank Security and reported the charges. While making contact I found that my Security Code acces name had been changed which I did not do. I also found that a new address and phone number had been added to my personal information. This also was not changes that I had made. The address that had been added was in XXXX XXXX which is near XXXX XXXX and where some of the charges had been made, at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I told the security people that the security code, address and phone number was not mine and to remove them. They cancelled my card and issued a new one. \nAfter receiving my new cards, a few days later I activated them and later checked my online account and found that four charges had already been put on my account that was not mine. Charges totaled {$1200.00}. These charges were made before I activavated my cards. Again, me and my wife had the cards continuously and had neither been around the area where the charges were made. I again contacted the credit card security to report the charges and found that the bogus security code had not been removed. Also the XXXX XXXX address and phone number was still there. After security cancelled my old card and issued a new one, they forgot to remove the information that had been added by the thief. When they mailed out new cards, 2 cards came to my address and one went to the thief 's XXXX XXXX address. I stayed on the line with security until they could tell me that the bogus information had been removed. They insured me that I would not be held responsible for any charges that were not mine. \nMy next contact with Security was when they advised me that I would be responsible for paying for the charges because they found that the charges were made with a computer chip in our credit card which is my responsibility. I told them that it was likely that a chip in a credit card did make the charges as they mailed the thief a credit card on my account. We added an employee card and updated our email address. Subsequently our account was locked for suspected fraud. We called Capital one verified our identity and the changes. Capital One requested supporting documentation from us consisting of drivers license copies, utility bills, and a copy of our Social Security card for each cardholder. We thought this an odd request especially since we have been using the card for over a year. We advised them that we were fine sending in everything with the exception of our Social Security card copies as we were not comfortable for security reasons with them having or storing a digital copy of our social security cards. We then sent in drivers license and utility bills for each card holder and with held the Social Security cards. For some reason After numerous calls Capital One refuses to remove the fraud hold on our card until we provide digital copies of our social security cards, which we will not do. This caused disruptions in our business so we opened another card with another company. \n\nWe called Capital One to close our account due to the fact that we were at an impasse. At the time we had a balance of approximately {$560.00}. We had accrued {$510.00} in cash rewards using the card for the last year. We requested to use the cash rewards we had earned to close out the account and fund the balance. Capital One now refuses to let us use our cash rewards until we send in our social security cards. We paid the balance and it seems we will now loose our cash rewards because we refuse to let Capital One have a copy of our Social Security cards. \n\nNo fraud was ever on this card! We made and authorized all changes. XXXX last XXXX XXXX : I didnt authorize anyone to use these cards after they were paid to a zero balance. Its totally not fair to me to keep making payments on these cards. Im not sure if my card ( s ) information were stolen online, in store, or old address. I have been reporting these cards as stolen through credit bureaus but Synchrony Bank refused to investigate these following cards as fraudulent. The card they are replacing does not expire for years so I would have no reasonable expectation that these were being mailed to me and if lost in the mail I would never have known about them until my auto payments were denied due to mismatched security code and exp date or until somebody else found them and began using them. I do not want to have to go through every autopay account I have to update this information and have tried to deny these cards or opt out but chase wont allow me to. Theyve also stated that there is nothing I can do to stop future unsolicited replacement cards so I have no peace of mind that another card in my name could end up floating around down the road. I finally found a screen shot of one of the gift cards and I tried the 16-digit card number on the credit card company 's phone service and it says the card doesnt exist because it is expired. \n\nI have also tried to work with XXXX to locate the money, and I havent been able to do so. I have attached email exchanges with XXXX XXXX who shared documents with me showing that they did refund the money to those cards. They said they will credit our account, block the merchant, and send us new debit cards. We asked to speak with the Bank of America security department, as it doesn't make sense how our cards, which were never used and are carried separately, were each fraudulently used on XXXX different days. We were told Bank of America does not have a security department. I was current on all these credit cards listed above prior to closing of accounts as of XX/XX/year>. I have called XXXX XXXX XXXX on numerous occasions requesting a dispute with no response to my dispute. These were also referred to their attorney for further collection/legal action to Johnson Mark LLC and I called XXXX and requested also to dispute these collections on all 3 credit cards as it was current due to closing of cards and was violating my FACTA and FDCPA rights for not reporting true and accurate information about my debts and was wrongfully charged off with the original collections. I have begged and pleaded to dispute and seek resolution on these debts with XXXX XXXX XXXX and Johnson Mark LLC on numerous occasions and now I am with an legal judgement on these with no right of disputing these claims. I have since recently retained counsel with XXXX XXXX XXXX and was advised by counsel to attempt to seek resolution by filing a complaint through CFPB.
