I wanted to make sure that the information listed was accurate and that this particular information was not appearing on my reports. I was able to view my credit report from XXXX and XXXX online. I noticed that XXXX was reporting the amount of my XXXX loan and the original balance incorrectly and filed the dispute online. My issues started when I tried to retrieve my report from TransUnion. The first issue was that I was advised they could not verify my information as provided and to contact the office by phone. I called the office of TransUnion. After providing my phone number, date of birth, and last XXXX of my social I was asked to confirm that my address was an address not mine in Delaware. I was asked to confirm that my first name was XXXX and my last name was the person XXXX last name. Apparently, when you call, TransUnion uses the phone number you are calling on to verify your identity. I have had my phone number for about 3 years I was concerned that if they are identifying folks by phone number someone calling in using my old cell phone number may be obtaining my information as I was able to obtain the address and full name of this gentleman XXXX. After spending 30 minutes on the phone finally, I was advised that I would receive my report by mail. A week later I received my credit report. The above-mentioned account was not on there however the reporting of my XXXX Loan was inaccurate. My XXXX loan along with thousands of others was paused in XXXX the agency that had my loan XXXX never reported the pause as the letter I received from them and US Department of Education advised. Instead, it was showing 4 months past due every month in 2020 up until the time my loan was transferred over to my new lender. In addition, once again, the amount of my loan with interest was reporting incorrectly appearing to show I went over my loan amount limit when in fact that is the daily interest calculated on the loan which is why those of us who have XXXX loans feel like we are paying payday loans because the interest almost equals your monthly payment. I have tried to dispute this issue with Transunion first by phone. I was advised to go to the website. I went to the website and put in my username and password. Apparently, they can not recognize my password on my smartphone or my computer. I was advised they would send me a code to reset my password. Never came. I checked and rechecked as of right now I still do not have the code. IT SHOULD NOT BE THIS DIFFICULT TO DISPUTE AN ITEM ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT. I received this portals reset in less than XXXX seconds. I contacted the chat feature on the TransUnion site no help. Regions replied to me directly via USPS mail ; however, the response does not appear on consumerfinance.gov. The efforts and response of Compliance Analyst XXXX XXXX are both greatly appreciated. \nMy concern regarding the uncollectible balances is that derogatory remarks are still being posted on my credit and or background. Outreach attempts from collectors are more annoying than frustrating, but negative background information regarding uncollectible balances which I refute, Regions places in a state of cease and desist, and further which may wind up being deemed totally invalid, are very damaging to me. \nIn mid XXXX XXXX I received by mail an offer from the most recent collections affiliate offering a 50 % settlement. The mailing was received at my new address which means that either Regions provided my new address to them from the CFPB complaint or that there are skip tracers stalking me and neither scenario is good. \nBetween XXXX XXXX and the time that the account ending in XXXX was closed in XXXX Regions assessed and kept nearly {$2000.00} in fees which helped to create these uncollectible balances and have since proceeded to stalk me and profoundly harm my reputation. I have not paid a single overdraft fee since XXXX and I currently have deposit and checking accounts at multiple banks. \nPlease also note that from XXXX XXXX until XXXX XXXX, a time during which Regions paid Regions rather than my intended payees, I additionally paid the balance on the overdraft account down from over {$500.00} to the remaining uncollectible balance of {$260.00}. One of the intended payees was XXXX XXXX XXXX, another citizen of the finance community which ultimately took my automobile in XXXX XXXX due to missed and late payments. \nThe original checking account ending in XXXX was opened in either late XXXX or early XXXX and the overdraft account was opened shortly thereafter. In XXXX XXXX the XXXX account was replaced by the XXXX account but the overdraft account never got linked to the new checking account and, regardless of the reason that happened, at the time I was told incorrectly that the overdraft account had been associated with the new account and would function exactly as it had for nearly 15 years. \nOver the next 18 months that followed Regions Bank, with billions of dollars in assets, was unable to assist me in any way at all other than leaving the account open to increase their fee revenue and it was very easy for them to see that I was already in a financially desperate situation at the time. \nAs for the fraud forms, they are much appreciated and very familiar to me since I have completed many such forms and affidavits since the first identity crisis in the year XXXX. In fact, a notarized affidavit was provided to Regions XXXX in XXXX regarding fraudulent charges on my checking account. The situation had become so dire that I had resorted to multiple internet loans and had become a victim of the unauthorized payday loan scam. Despite the fact that I did not authorize the payday loan fees, Regions refused to refund the approximately {$60.00} that were successfully withdrawn or any of the numerous additional overdraft charges caused by the unauthorized debits and attempts. \nMy main current objective is the improvement of my credit, background and reputation. The direct and indirect damages caused by the events described in my CFPB submissions are immeasurably significant but they are not irreversible. Since XXXX and even prior to that I have been fortunate to have maintained a consulting relationship with XXXX of the largest sports and entertainment venue/teams in XXXX. TransUnion is reporting the balances on my accounts are too high compared to loan amounts and that they are high lowering my score, however, I paid my auto loans and am using less than 2 % of my available credit. TransUnion is also stating my largest credit limit on my open bankcard or revolving accounts is too low which is not accurate. While I may not have {$100000.00} limits I don't have as little as $ XXXX-XXXX limits. What do they consider too low a limit? TransUnion is being biased and prejudice by also lowering my score by stating largest credit limit among all the open bankcard or revolving accounts in your credit file is low. Again this information is inaccurate if you look at my available credit and limits across my card profile. TransUnion is giving the false impression that I am overextended which are triggers for higher risk of which I am not This is a defamation of my character. I always use credit responsibly and always make payments on time. TransUnion also states I have too many inquiries and this is lowering my score. I have one ( 1 ) inquiry from XX/XX/2020 and no other inquires. How is this \" too many '' unless they are simply looking for reasons to intentionally lower my score because of race. This information is not correct nor is it right. Stating I have too many inquiries can lower your score a small amount, typically by 10 to 20 points. The TransUnion XXXX credit score model is flawed. Again another inaccurate piece of information in my credit file that TransUnion fails to correct is they are claiming the total of all balances on bankcard or revolving accounts is too high yet I have paid off practically every credit card, I have paid off my auto loan, I have no personal loans no payday loans and I find it strange that my score dropped significantly when I paid off all debt than when I had debt. For the past 8 months I have been at 1-3 % utilization and yet my score continues to drop with TransUnion with no explanation so I find it difficult to understand how TransUnion states the total combined amount I owe on all of my bankcards and revolving accounts is high and a sign of increased risk. People who carry balances on multiple bankcards or other revolving accounts have reduced available credit to use if needed, creating a greater chance of becoming overextended yet I have paid everything off ; TransUnion claims on their own website : Pay down the balances on your accounts. When I got home from work, I immediately accessed my credit report and noted that a hard inquiry by XXXX XXXX XXXX had been completed. I had not sought out the services of XXXX XXXX XXXX nor authorized XXXX XXXX XXXX to perform any inquiry. I immediately called XXXX XXXX XXXX and notified them of possible identity theft and fraudulent activity. They stated that it was an \" online '' loan application. I then stated that it definitely was not me and I was provided a customer service reference number by XXXX XXXX XXXX. I then began the process of placing security freezes and fraud alerts with XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. When reviewing my credit reports I saw an unauthorized inquiry by FactorTrust, Incorporated. I did not recognize that company so looked it up on the internet and found that they are an \" alternative credit bureau '' that is used by XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was unable to talk to a customer service representative at FactorTrust that evening because their hours of operation are from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX Eastern Time. So, I attempted to access THAT credit report to place a security freeze and I was unable to successfully \" verify my identity '' by the questions posed ( I now know that they have created a credit report on me FULL of inaccuracies and will explain further. ) As I was unable to answer the verification questions ( which I have been able to do for over 30+ years with no problems with all other agencies ) I called their customer service number on XX/XX/2020 to notify them that XXXX XXXX XXXX was not authorized to do a credit inquiry and to place a fraud alert and security freeze on the credit report. The representative I spoke with did note that I had had difficulty signing on because of the \" failures '' on the security questions. Once I satisfactorily answered questions to verify my identity with the agent, I was provided a fax number and provided directions on placing a security freeze. I filled out a form and faxed it with supporting identification on XX/XX/2020. I have YET to receive confirmation on the security freeze as of XX/XX/2020. As I was able to finally see the \" credit report '' generated by FactorTrust ( once the agent assisted me ) I noticed multiple inaccuracies and items on the report that are not part of credit reports. First off, the report generated by FactorTrust , Inc. was done on XX/XX/2020 ... they have nothing prior to XX/XX/2020. Secondly, it had information included on the credit report that is not on the \" big '' three namely, a bank routing and account number and a loan number for XXXX XXXX XXXX with the amount of the \" payday '' loan ( yes, it said the type of loan it was ). In addition, it had my so-called salary and my so-called payroll frequency ( both incorrect ). With this information, I looked up the routing number and called the bank ( not a bank nor branch available in my state so obviously not mine ) and I notified that bank that my name, DOB, and SSN was used to obtain a loan fraudulently and that their bank is listed on my credit report. Their customer service department took the information on the evening of the 7th and said that they were forwarding it to their fraud department. I spent hours on the 7th and 8th trying to reach \" real '' people in various agencies/companies desperate to make sure the thief 's damage was contained. On XX/XX/2020 I filed an Identity Theft Report with the Federal Trade Commission naming XXXX XXXX XXXX and FactorTrust, Incorporated as unauthorized users of my personal information. Copies of the the FTC Identity Theft Report were provided XXXX XXXX XXXX and to all credit reporting agencies including FactorTrust, Incorporated, and disputes filed to have the inquiries removed. After filing the report and reading my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act I contacted the bank that was listed on my FactorTrust, Incorporated credit report to ask what information I needed to provide to them to obtain copies of the application someone used to open the bank account using my information. It was at this point that I learned that the bank account was not associated with my name and SSN. I explained that FactorTrust, Inc. has it associated with my personal identifying information and the bank stated that the information must have come from the XXXX XXXX XXXX loan application. In truth, FactorTrust, Inc. generated an inaccurate, falsified Consumer Disclosure Credit Report about ME using information from an ONLINE PAYDAY LOAN application. On XX/XX/2020 I mailed a letter to FactorTrust, Incorporated requesting that they A ) delete and block XXXX XXXX XXXX from my credit report, and B ) that they delete and remove my entire consumer report file that they generated as the result of identity theft and fraud. On XX/XX/2020, I faxed a duplicate request to FactorTrust Incorporated along with the FTC Identity Theft Report. To date, FactorTrust, Inc. has still not notified me of my requested security freeze status. To date, FactorTrust Inc. is the only credit reporting agency that has not removed the fraudulent inquiry and information. To date, the only correspondence I have received from them is an email in response to my disputes about the false information and the XXXX XXXX XXXX inquiry. Email reads as follows : Good morning, We are in receipt of your dispute and have started the investigation process. Please provide us proof and back up supporting your claims. This supporting documentation can be mailed or faxed in to us. If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call at ( XXXX ) XXXX. \nThanks, Consumer Support FactorTrust, Inc. \nXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, GA XXXX Fax XXXX To summarize : FactorTrust , Inc. is party to creating a Consumer Disclosure Credit Report full of inaccurate and false information based on an online application created by an identity thief. FactorTrust, Inc. is the least responsive to my requests to correct and delete any and all information they collected on me as the result of identity theft.","date_sent_to_company":"2020-01-22T19:34:32.000Z","issue":"Incorrect information on your report","sub_product":"Credit reporting","zip_code":"750XX","tags":"Servicemember","has_narrative":true,"complaint_id":"3497976","timely":"Yes","company_response":"Closed with explanation","submitted_via":"Web","company":"FactorTrust, Inc.","date_received":"2020-01-16T01:48:02.000Z","state":"TX","company_public_response":null,"sub_issue":"Information belongs to someone else"},"highlight":{"complaint_what_happened":["I explained that FactorTrust, Inc. has it associated with my personal identifying information and the bank stated that the information must have come from the XXXX XXXX XXXX loan application. Per terms of my employment, I provided full details and portal access for my employer to approve me to hold the account. The inaccurate reporting and lack of supporting documentation on the portal caused my XXXX XXXX XXXX to question the origination lender, legal parameters of the loan structure and auto-draft authorizations. They asked for a copy of the loan docs, a payment ledger and my bank statements to show all complied with NYS lending laws and that XXXX were a legitimate loan management firm ( not a payday or predatory lender ). Upon initiating this process, I found that XXXX had sold my account to SST without notification. Furthermore, XXXX was negligent in their reporting- supplying false numbers to credit agencies as well as incorrect balances and dates on their website. They had the cash loan amount as {$7000.00}, payments were listed as only {$130.00} per month and entire payments were missing not reflecting my perfect payment history or paydown of the debt balance. As of XX/XX/XXXX, the portal showed that I had made payments of {$3500.00} but payoff would be an additional {$5500.00}. None of the numbers added up to my bank records or credit reports. I was transparent with customer support regarding the exact practices that were being questioned and the necessity for my accounts to comply with state lending laws. I was told that they escalated the issue, notes were being made to my account, payments were being paused until resolution and someone would contact me. A supervisor was never available to speak on the phone. They verbally agreed to send the information. None was received. Further email and telephone requests were ignored. XX/XX/XXXX, harassing phone calls and threats ensued from XXXX. Sometimes up to XXXX calls a day, threatening voicemails, bill XXXX with unprofessional language and no knowledge of how to calculate payments/balances. Service reps would refuse to discuss the account unless I made another payment. They could not show me an accurate record of the payments they already received or how the payments had been applied to the {$3500.00} principal loan balance. XXXX reported the account as delinquent and wrote it off claiming that I was non-responsive. XXXX then RETROACTIVELY changed their documentation to the credit agencies and locked me out of the portal. Credit reports showed new payment amounts, dates and a payment history where there had previously been none. However, the FALSE loan amount, payment frequency and delinquency claims remained. XXXX has received documented auto draft payments from my XXXX account for 13 months totaling {$3500.00} as of XX/XX/XXXX. They NEVER initiated a loan or monetary transfer for any amount over {$3500.00}. The account was never delinquent. I am unaware of owing any debt to a bank there has to be some mistake. He/ then stated he didn't know I would need to contact them and see why they were giving me such a low score. The rep I spoke to at Chex systems didn't want to help me, he stated I needed to do everything over the phone and figure things out on my own. I told him he was being rude and should not treat people that way, he then proceeded to hang up the phone. I called back and ordered my consumers disclosure report on the phone to be mailed to me since their system wouldn't allow me to request it online. Upon receiving my Consumer disclosure report, I noticed multiple inaccuracies reporting on my consumers disclosure report from ChexSystems.I immediately thought to myself my consumers disclosure report was not handled with accuracy or integrity due to the number of inaccuracies within this report as 12 CFR 1022.41states.12 CFR 1022.41states ( a ) Accuracy means that information that a furnisher provides to a consumer reporting agency about an account or other relationship with the consumer correctly : 1 ) Reflects the terms of and liability for the account or other relationship ; ( 2 ) Reflects the consumer 's performance and other conduct with respect to the account or other relationship ; and ( 3 ) Identifies the appropriate consumer. \n\n12 CFR 1022.41 ( d ) also states Integrity means that information that a furnisher provides to a consumer reporting agency about an account or other relationship with the consumer : ( 1 ) Is substantiated by the furnisher 's records at the time it is furnished ; ( 2 ) Is furnished in a form and manner that is designed to minimize the likelihood that the information may be incorrectly reflected in a consumer report ; and ( XXXX ) Includes the information in the furnisher 's possession about the account or other relationship that the Bureau has : ( i ) Determined that the absence of which would likely be materially misleading in evaluating a consumer 's creditworthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living. I am challenging the accuracy and integrity of the furnished information on my consumers disclosure report within the Chexsystem. There were no banking institutions stating I owed them money just inquiries from pay day loan applications on it that I never applied for. I called Chex system to dispute the inquiries and they stated they would do an investigation into the matter and I still have yet to hear anything from Chex system about these inquiries. Chex system is required to report accurate information and they are not reporting accurate information.Due to the number of inaccuracies within this Consumer disclosure report which I have highlighted in the images below in the attachment section I know these inquiries are inaccurate and not mines. I have never attempted to apply for any loan online and they now know since Ive sent in multiple disputes to clear this information of my Chex system consumers disclosure report. I am not familiar with those addresses attached to these payday loan applications. Since Chex system is reporting these inaccurate inquires on my consumer disclosure report in their system and I am being denied checking accounts I would have been approved for had they not been reporting the inaccurate inquires on my report. This is causing me so much stress because not being able to open a checking account is affecting my employment opportunities.I have called all companies about these false applications and alerted them about the applications not being mines they stated I need to clear the inquiries with Chex system and Chex system has still not cleared them which is not prompting me to write this complaint. I was told, under this, repeatedly, any missed payments were deferred and would be due as a balloon payment at the end of my loan term. When I expressed concern about my ability to make a balloon payment in such a short space of time, I was advised the loan would be converted to a 30 year/not to worry/cross that bridge, etc. \n\nIn early XXXX, I reached out and was initially offered a deferment, although, at that point, my loan was current. I don't recall the name, but I did receive a call/had conversations on XX/XX/XXXX with a gentleman who identified himself as my personal \" account specialist ''. The conversation we had was very difficult to understand ( he sounded like he was underwater ) and I never heard from him again. He told me I was no longer eligible for forbearance and something of something that \" my situation had changed ''. I received no further communications of any sort about this. \n\nIn XXXX I contacted Chase ( I believe mortgage forbearance, again ) and was cheerfully informed to not worry, I was eligible for a deferment and would I like to accept it? I agreed, it was a two month deferment. \n\nOn XX/XX/XXXX ( I know because I had a handyman over, have pictures of the new door uploaded on my phone ), I received a notice my account was now 5 months past due, I must pay the entire past due amount immediately or I would be foreclosed on. I called the number on the notice. The very nice and helpful lady who answered immediately told me I was \" eligible for a deferment and that would bring my account current, would I like to take that? \". I did, but I again made a point of discussing that my account should not BE approaching foreclosure, because it was, at most 60 days past due. \n\nI believe this was essentially ignored/brushed aside and I was told to not concern myself about this. \n\nOn XX/XX/XXXX ( I'm basing this on my payday -- -so I attempted to make a payment when my mortgage was either 60 days late, not the 150 days you continued to claim ), I submitted an online payment for half my mortgage payment. It was rejected. I inquired as to why and a copy of your \" good-bye letter '' was sent to me electronically. IT specifically states \" nothing will change about my account except for who I remit my payments to ''. I also called customer service about it, multiple times and was assured there would be a 60 day freeze of any negative activity and, since I was ( once again ) eligible for a deferment, that would be honored. \n\nI immediately began seeking to communicate with XXXX and was in later Approved for a trial payment plan/loan modification, even though the account would have been still frozen. I made my first trial payment to XXXX on or before XX/XX/XXXX, because it posted on that date. I would later be informed it \" doesn't count '' because it was made before the 60 day freeze was over ( or some such ). \n\nI decided during this time frame, while I had been treated unfairly, I would move forward because the modification would allow me to resume payments and pay off my loan, the only thing I had ever wanted to do. \n\nIn a conversation with my Single Point of Contact/Loss Mitigation XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX also included, so she and Shellpoint XXXX XXXX made aware of this, as I have requested, I was informed a Quit Claim Deed would be needed to proceed with the loan modification, once my trial payments were concluded successfully. \n\nI had not heard of this, was under the impression the property merely awarded to me is sufficient, but this is not the case. I was further informed in multiple, subsequent conversations with other XXXX representatives, XXXX would likely proceed with foreclosure if I did not obtain a Quit Claim Deed, which my ex refuses to sign. \n\nIn one of these conversations ( I had always planned on making much larger payments, anyway, as again, my only wish was to pay off my loan and live in my house ), I inquired about other options. I was informed even if I was deferment eligible, XXXX must have that in writing and they considered that to then be due immediately and upfront. Further more, because the last payment made ( ignoring the unapplied trial payments ) and they also ignored the Covid Mortgage protection, they considered my loan to be a full year past due and I must make 12 payments ( nearly the entire loan, in fact ) upfront. If I wanted to make a \" mere '' 3 upfront payments, I needed to prove, in writing, it was only 90 days past due when it came to them. Honestly, even {$4300.00} would be a struggle for me, but I'd certainly seek to find a way. \n\nWith this information, I reached out to Chase customer service to give me documents that supported my assertions. Each secure message grew progressively rude, dismissive and snotty. And failed to give me the information I had requested. The second such communication was so obnoxious, I realized this action has been illegal, advised I'd be pursuing legal action and submitting regulatory complaints unless I was satisfied. My complaint was escalated to XXXX XXXX ( not sure of the spelling ). I was assured of a reply within in 3 business days. \n\nI also began some cursory internet research and uncovered a variety of lawsuits and actions against Chase that are remarkably similar to my situation, indicating precedent and an ongoing pattern dating back over a decade. \n\nI called the line I was given for Mortgage Escalations ( XXXX ) daily : Thursday XX/XX/XXXX, Friday XX/XX/XXXX and Monday XXXX. I was assured \" an email was being sent '' to XXXX about this and he would call me as soon as he \" had completed his investigation ''. When I called Monday, I was first brushed off similarly, then the associate noticed a not had been left, again, brushing and dismissing my concerns. No one bothered to call and inquire as to specifics, nor did anybody seem concerned about my issue or my continued assurances of my intent to pursue legal action. \n\nI immediately demanded a supervisor and/or the Executive Office . The associate repeatedly tried to talk me out of this insisting, 'this is something we do all the time ''. Yes, I am fully aware you are legally entitled to sell my loan at any time, for any reason or no reason. You are NOT entitled to make verbal contracts with me, breach them and not inform me. You are not entitled to record incorrect information and not correct it or justify it when I've brought it to your attention. \n\nUltimately, I sent this summary to my \" executive '' and was told, after an extensive amount of time, that my mortgage \" was ineligible for deferment because the amount was so small ''. Except, again, it was repeatedly offered to me, I never before informed of this, it was never 5 months past due, etc. I was repeatedly given contradictory information by the bank and they repeatedly committed fraud and breached the verbal agreements they kept making.","date_sent_to_company":"2022-08-23T19:06:54.000Z","issue":"Trouble during payment process","sub_product":"Conventional home mortgage","zip_code":"97206","tags":null,"has_narrative":true,"complaint_id":"5909510","timely":"Yes","company_response":"Closed with explanation","submitted_via":"Web","company":"JPMORGAN CHASE & CO.","date_received":"2022-08-23T18:59:27.000Z","state":"OR","company_public_response":null,"sub_issue":null},"highlight":{"complaint_what_happened":["Yes, I am fully aware you are legally entitled to sell my loan at any time, for any reason or no reason.
