Even items claims to have removed is not updated and is somehow locked to where it wont update to future lenders, Transunion is intentionally preventing me from receiving further financing as retaliation to me filing disputes and CFPB complaints against them. They will write any narrative possible to not remove these items and not accept my FTC identity reports. An unauthorized residential lease and related collection account has appeared on my TransUnion credit file. This account is fraudulent, does not belong to me, and is the direct result of unauthorized access to my personal information. \n\nThe fraudulent tradeline appears as follows : Collection Agency : XXXX XXXX XXXX Original Creditor : Current Retail Balance : {$11000.00} I have now submitted four ( 4 ) separate, full, and valid FTC Identity Theft Reports to TransUnion documenting this fraud, including my most recent FTC report filed on XX/XX/year> ( FTC Report No. XXXX ) FTC-XXXX  Despite receiving multiple valid identity theft reports and supporting documentation ( including government-issued ID and proof of address ), TransUnion has refused to block or remove this fraudulent tradeline. \n\nThis refusal is unlawful. Under 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ( a ), a consumer reporting agency must block the reporting of information identified in an identity theft report within 4 business days of receiving : Proof of identity ; A copy of the Identity Theft Report ; and Identification of the fraudulent information to be blocked. \n\nI have provided all of these items on multiple occasions. Despite paying off this account in full, TransUnion continues to reflect misleading and damaging derogatory information. \nAccording to the TransUnion credit report dated XX/XX/XXXX, the XXXXXXXX XXXX account shows a balance of {$0.00}, a last payment date of XX/XX/XXXX, and remarks stating, PAID IN FULL/WAS A CHARGE OFF. This notation is deceptive and contradicts Metro 2 Format ( FAQ 45 ), which clearly states that charge-offs must only reflect an unpaid principal NOT late fees or penalties. In my case, the principal balance was only {$1.00}, and the rest was attributed to fees. \nThe report also shows the account was closed on XX/XX/XXXX, before the last payment on XX/XX/XXXX. This inconsistency indicates re-aging and inaccurate reporting. Furthermore, this data creates a false derogatory narrative even though I satisfied the debt entirely, and the account should not carry any remaining negative status under the FCRA. \nAdditionally, no positive payment history is reflected for several years. This further violates the FCRA and undermines my right to a fair and accurate credit profile. I have made multiple attempts to correct this, yet TransUnion has failed to reinvestigate and resolve the issue properly, despite my documented disputes and supporting documentation. \nThis is a direct violation of the following provisions : - FCRA 1681e ( b ) : Failure to ensure maximum possible accuracy - FCRA 1681i ( a ) : Failure to conduct a proper reinvestigation - FCRA 1681s-2 ( a ) : Furnishing information known to be inaccurate - Metro 2 Format ( FAQ 35, 45 ) : Re-aging and improper charge-off practices Attached to this complaint are copies of my most recent TransUnion credit report, letters from XXXX XXXX stating the balance were reflecting paid in full which it is not, a letter regarding proof junk fees, and a letter amongst many of proof that I have tried to resolve. Despite submitting an FTC Identity Theft Report ( # XXXX ) and supporting documentation, the credit bureaus have not deleted or blocked the disputed items as required under 605B. \n\nWhat Happened On or about XX/XX/XXXX, multiple unauthorized hard inquiries appeared on my credit file. \n\nXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX  XXXX XXXX, and XXXX XXXX  each made inquiries on the same date via Equifax, without my consent or permissible purpose under 604. \n\nXXXX XXXX XXXX made a similar inquiry on XX/XX/XXXX via TransUnion. \n\nI also discovered a collection account reported by XXXX XXXX XXXX ( original creditor : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX  ) appearing on Experian and TransUnion, opened around XX/XX/XXXX, with a balance of {$3200.00}. \n\nI never opened or authorized this account. \n\nI have no record of any relationship with the furnisher or original creditor. \n\nThis account appears to be the result of identity theft and should be blocked immediately under 605B.\n\nI provided each bureau with : My government-issued ID and proof of address, A copy of my FTC Identity Theft Report ( # XXXX ), and Highlighted copies of my credit reports showing disputed items. \n\nI also requested a Method of Verification ( MOV ) for all items under dispute including documentation, signatures, and source of reporting but none of the bureaus have provided any evidence of a legitimate authorization or original signed agreement. \n\nAdditionally, if the XXXX XXXX XXXX account was previously deleted and reinserted, the bureaus failed to send me the required 5-day reinsertion notice per 611 ( a ) ( 5 ) ( B ).\n\nApplicable Violations 607 ( b ) : Failure to assure maximum possible accuracy.\n\n604 : Inquiries made without permissible purpose or authorization.\n\n605B : Failure to block identity-theft-related accounts.\n\n611 ( a ) ( 5 ) ( B ) : Failure to provide notice of reinsertion.\n\n611 : Failure to conduct a proper reinvestigation within 30 days.","date_sent_to_company":"2025-11-06T01:01:05.000Z","issue":"Incorrect information on your report","sub_product":"Credit reporting","zip_code":"30331","tags":null,"has_narrative":true,"complaint_id":"17031056","timely":"Yes","company_response":"Closed with explanation","submitted_via":"Web","company":"Experian Information Solutions Inc.","date_received":"2025-11-06T01:00:40.000Z","state":"GA","company_public_response":"Company has responded to the consumer and the CFPB and chooses not to provide a public response","sub_issue":"Information belongs to someone else"},"highlight":{"complaint_what_happened":["CFPB Complaint <em>Narrative</em> : <em>Credit</em> <em>Reporting</em> Violation & Identity Theft Summary of the Issue I am filing this complaint under the Fair <em>Credit</em> <em>Reporting</em> Act ( 15 U.S.C. 604, 605B, 607 ( b ), 609 ( a ), and 611 ) against Equifax, Experian, and <em>TransUnion</em> for failing to properly investigate and remove inaccurate and identity-theft-related items from my consumer <em>credit</em> <em>reports</em>."],"product":["<em>Credit</em> reporting or other personal consumer reports"],"issue":["Incorrect information on your <em>report</em>"],"sub_product":["<em>Credit</em> reporting"]},"sort":[12.849585,"17031056"]},{"_index":"complaint-public-v1","_id":"2488197","_score":12.6170845,"_source":{"product":"Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports","complaint_what_happened":"TransUnion re-reported a debt on my credit report that had already been disputed and investigated over 4 years ago ( see page  4 of 7 on atta ched documents ) .The results of that previous investigation was that the collection record was removed from my credit report.     According to the TransUnion copy of the consumers previous credit report ( File Number :  XXXX  ; Date Issued :  XXXX / XXXX / XXXX  - see also page  4 of 7  ), the record shows that the Original Owner (  XXXX   XXXX   XXXX   XXXX   ),  and the amount ( {$330.00} ) were exactly the same.     Late in  XXXX  I received a letter from a debt collection company called  XXXX   XXXX , demanding payment of the same debt that had been disputed, investigated, and removed from my credit report in  XXXX . My challenge is that I no longer have a record of the resolution of that debt from over 4 years ago. My contention, and the basis for my dispute ( then & now  ) , was that this debt has been paid.     I sent TransUnion a letter dated  XXXX   XXXX ,  XXXX  ( see page  3 of 7 on  attached documents ) notifying them of this unsubstantiated demand for payment and requested a copy of the results of their previous investigation regarding this debt. TransUnion responded that they could not provide the record because there currently was no adverse entry on my credit report to base pulling the record on.     Now there is. The  NEW  debt collector has reported the  SAME debt record that had previously been investing and removed from my credit report. TransUnion elected to RE-REPORT (  see   XXXX   XXXX   #  XXXX  on page  2 of 7 of a ttached documents ) the previously removed record, with a statement of consumer dispute and an inference that the record complies with the FCRA.     To my knowledge, there is no provision in the FCRA that allows for the RE-REPORTING of a disputed record on the consumers credit report after an investigation resulting in removal of that record. There is no new supporting documentation supplied by the debt collector or the original owner,   XXXX     XXXX   XXXX ,  XXXX , who would have been required to respond to the original disputed information reported by the previous debt collection company,  XXXX   XXXX  ( see  XXXX   XXXX  #  XXXX  on page  4 of 7  of attached documents ).     An unrelated event, such as a sale to a third party, should not in and of itself be sufficient cause to RE-REPORT a previously removed debt record.     Additionally, I submitted a complaint to the CFPB against this debt collector,  XXXX   XXXX ,  (  see previously submitted complaint #  XXXX  page  7 of 7  on attached documents ). To this date, debt collector  XXXX   XXXX , has been non-responsive to repeated attempts by the CFPB to make contact in order to respond to the consumers complaint.     The previous record of this debt shows that it is just 6 months away from bein g Time-Barred Debt.   ( See Estimated month and year that this item will be   removed :  XXXX  on page  4 of 7 un der   XXXX     XXXX  #  XXXX  on attached documents ). By TransUnion RE-REPORTING this old debt, it has the appearance of NEW debt on my credit report, in that it now has a NEW account number, a NEW Original Creditor and the NEW Placed for Collection Date now reads  XXXX / XXXX / XXXX .     This is a misrepresentation of the record of this debt and as such should be removed from the credit report. TransUnion should not have RE-REPORTED a record received from a debt collection company that has been non-responsive to the governing  Federal Agency  that oversees their industry, nor should TransUnion have RE-REPORTED this record without any new basis for disregarding the previous investigation and removal of that record.     I request that TransUnion remove this record from my credit report. As documented throughout this narrative, this is clearly THE SAME DEBT that has already been disputed, investigated and removed from my credit report OVER 4 YEARS
