Because as with any other account I have opened where you pay off the balance in a set term I set it and forgot it. I made XXXX late payments and fulfilled everything that is in the spirit of paying off the debt with their promotional period. Needless to say this predatory company charged me less and less each month without me knowing unless I kept a super close watch on my accounts ( during a pandemic where everyone was just trying to survive ). They purposefully mislead customers into thinking that they are signing up to pay it off interest free and then collect as much interest as possible. Yes I should have calculated myself instead of believing that the company split the payments into equal parts and wouldnt lower the payment as I went along. Yes I should have been more meticulous with my payment statements and realizing their set amount would never pay off the balance within the term.
