It stated at the top of the page that doing the prequalification would not affect my credit score, yet they sent my information to a local dealership ( XXXX ) and the dealership immediately put a hard inquiry on my credit report from the information that GM Financial sent them. I felt good about filling it out since it clearly stated on the same page as the information I was filling in, that it would not affect my credit score and that it was a prequalification only. I looked at my credit afterwards and there was a hard inquiry from XXXX, the local dealership. I called them and they said their system automatically runs it when GM Financial sent my information and there was nothing they could do and I should call GM Financial. I called GM Financial and they wouldn't even let me speak with a manager. They said since they didn't run my credit then there was nothing they could and I should call XXXX. No one would tell me what I needed to do or offered any help on the situation.
