If you call any store in the US they are not accepting returns. Instead of refunding our money, they offered to provide replacement furniture but we had to pay the difference, which we paid in cash. \n\nThis new furniture was scheduled for delivery on XX/XX/XXXX but Ashley XXXX again failed to show up nor make any attempt to contact us to explain why. So, we never received the new bedroom furniture we purchased. I attempted to return the damaged furniture to the store XX/XX/XXXX and but XXXX XXXX at the XXXX store said not to. We went to the store on XX/XX/XXXX to request a refund. We were refunded {$760.00} that we paid in cash but never received a refund of the {$2100.00} that was charged to the Ashley ( Synchrony Bank ) card. Ashley picked up the damaged furniture on XX/XX/XXXX but we have not received a refund, nor has the amount been credited back to my Synchrony account. \n\nI have disputed this charge 3 times with Synchrony. Synchrony continues to incorrectly dispute the full amount of my Ashley purchase. Because of this error on their part, they have been unable to get the fraudulent charge credited back to my account. I have tried to contact both Ashley and Synchrony but have had to wait on hold for hours. Several times the Ashley line just hangs up after I have been on hold for hours. Synchrony has equally been ineffective at resolving this dispute as they seem to not be reading my supporting documents. \n\nI also filed a compliant with the better business bureau but Ashley stopped responding to the XXXX I believe that both Ashley and Synchrony are collaboratively trying to defraud me. I sent that information to show that XXXX was doing unauthorized transactions to all of my accounts. \nI did try to contact the merchant by phone in which I received no help. Then I submitted an online complaint to the merchant advising them that they have no authorization for any of my bank accounts or any of my debit card information to be submitting any transactions and they already know this and the only response that I received from them is that they will stop the draft but they never said we have authorization because they did not have authorization, and they never asked for what accounts are you asking to drafts to be stopped because there should not be no draft because they have no authorization. That is why I said in that email to them you already know this that you do not have authorization and they never responded we do have an authorization on file and this is what you have to do to revoke they just said will stop the drafts because they know they had no authorization I sent all of this information to XXXX XXXX showing them that I never gave XXXX my XXXX XXXX card information. I only swiped my XXXX XXXX card in XXXX of XXXX at the furniture store for the initial XXXX time payment fee of {$25.00} that the store owner said I had to pay with a card in the store. After that the agreement that I signed with XXXX only gave authorization for my XXXX XXXX checking account with no mention of XXXX XXXX at all. \nXXXX XXXX is now saying that because the store where I swipe my card sent the information to XXXX without my knowledge or consent and XXXX had that debit card on file even though they did not put that in the contract, but because in the contract it says any payment information that they have on file that they can use to get payment, XXXX XXXX is saying that that is how those transactions can be considered authorized. But if I did not give XXXX my XXXX XXXX  card information and agree that they can take payments from that card and my contract strictly says XXXX XXXX and that the furniture place sent the XXXX XXXX information over to XXXX without advising me that they would have my XXXX XXXX information on file after swiping the card in the store for the XXXX time payment of {$25.00} so how can that be considered authorized? I never gave constant or permission for my XXXX XXXX card to be used only my XXXX XXXX and if they somehow had that card information on file with XXXX XXXX they can not use it when I never gave them permission or gave them that information for them to even have them have it on file they received it from some other source. And in the contract you can see that the payment was only supposed to be {$130.00} a month coming out of the XXXX XXXX checking account. The transactions in XX/XX/XXXX we're all {$21.00} each on XXXX different dates and the dates in XX/XX/XXXX were XXXX different transactions XXXX on the same date with XXXX different amounts and XXXX on a different date for another amount. So each of those transactions would have had to have an authorization for each of the transaction because those transactions don't even follow the contract that I had that was strictly for my XXXX XXXX account so again it is still unauthorized transactions but XXXX XXXX  refuses to help me and to refund me back my money from the merchant even with all the details I am giving them and with all the information that I am sending them. \nI would like XXXX XXXX to request the money back from the merchant and refund it back to my XXXX XXXX  card and if XXXX feels that I owe them anything then they need to contact me directly to have it resolved but they can not just submit unauthorized transactions because they believe that I owe them something when I do not and they still have to get authorizations to use any of my bank accounts or credit card information. \nAnd according to the law they would need to prove that they have authorization for each and every transaction from the XXXX XXXX card which the only authorization they had at the signing of the contract was XXXX XXXX until I stopped pay was put in at XXXX XXXX from them doing unauthorized transactions. \nThe fact is they never received any authorization to ever use my XXXX XXXX card and I never gave them the information to keep on file so therefore all of those transactions are unauthorized. I also did state that I did call the merchant in XX/XX/XXXX XXXX and spoke to a rep reminder them that I did return the furniture and that there is no money that should be taken out of my XXXX XXXX account but because they kept taking different amounts at different times that I had put a stop pay on and I need them to update their system and their representative XXXX said that she would do that and nothing else would ever taken out of my XXXX XXXX and I never had anything taken out of my XXXX XXXX until XX/XX/XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. If XXXX had authorization for my XXXX XXXX  card after I stopped the XXXX XXXX and if they felt like I still owe them money why did they wait until the end of XX/XX/XXXX to start charging the XXXX XXXX card when they would have started charging that way back in XXXX. None of their actions are legit and all of their actions have been unauthorized. If you would ask XXXX for anything with my signature or a voice recording of me giving them my XXXX XXXX information and authorizing them for each transaction in XXXX of XXXX and XXXX of XXXX they would not be able to submit that information because I never gave them authorization. Trying to explain this information in writing to XXXX XXXX  dispute department has been very hard and complicated and frustrating. First you have to stay online for XXXX minutes just to get a representative then you get transferred to the dispute department where you spend another about XXXX minutes online to speak to a representative and the only thing that they tell you is what decision was made and if you have any questions or want to appeal you have to go right back to the process of resubmitting information you can never directly talk to a dispute person that are the ones that review your information to clearly explain your dispute. This card was issued by Comenity Capital Bank, part of Bread Financial. I used the card about twice since then and paid in full each time. In XX/XX/XXXX I paid in full a new bill with a charge I made of about {$290.00}, the company deemed the payment late and charged me penalties and fees totalling about 20 % of the original bill. I noticed this only the following month since I believed that I had paid the amount owed and did not charge anything further, by which time fees upon fees had also begun to be charged. I contacted the company requesting that these fees be reversed, but the company said it was their policy not to fully reverse them. I then protested the company 's business practices, asked that the card be cancelled, and informed the company that I would dispute any negative information reported to credit agencies. The company had begun harassing me with phone calls ( which I was able to stop ), monthly bills with fresh fees and penalties for not having paid the first fee imposed, and no sooner did I cancel the card than it also began reporting monthly delinquency to my credit agencies. All this even as I paid back in XXXX the amount in full that I had charged in the Sephora store. \nI have been notified by a credit monitoring service that this company is also reporting increasing debt owed to it, in addition to delinquency. \nNow my credit score is well on its way to ruin, what was previously near a perfect score ( well over 800 ) has now dropped to XXXX in just a couple of months, solely due to this company 's actions. This will have lasting ramifications on my financial future. \nI am now in a serious bind where, if I do not pay the increasing amounts that this company claims I owe them, my credit will be further ruined and there will be no recourse. I believe that this is highly usurious, that this company is preying on consumers and would like to know if any laws are being violated through this company 's predatory practices. \nIn its letter of acknowledgement of the cancellation of the card, this company openly informed me of its intention that they will continue to claim fees and to make regular communications to collect them, including negative credit reporting. As of today the company claims to the credit reporting agency that I have a {$290.00} outstanding debt to it, all of which would comprise fees charged. That represents already 100 % of the original amount I charged to the card. \nEven if I do this to end the harassment, it seems that it will already take me years to recover from this problem. Finally, Discovers a one-page reply to my verbal and written dispute.\n\nAs I write this complaint, I realize that what the employee of this company did to me is probably criminal. The fact that I was taken to the back of the store, behind the register, behind a wall, and my purse and phone were strategically taken away from me feels criminal. However, Discover failed to take my dispute seriously or even investigate my complaint. The people at XXXX XXXX XXXX seem to know exactly what they are doing. This level of criminal activity, in my opinion, is sophisticated, they are methodical with every action and statement they make. The fact that all this information was related to Discover and they didnt even do the bare minimum to investigate anything I have told them is extremely alarming to me. \n\nThe merchant dispute began on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, at XXXX XXXX XXXX, an outdoor XXXX in XXXX XXXX. I was at the XXXX after having a XXXX  procedure earlier that day (I can provide XXXX  documentation to support this) I was approached by a young lady standing outside the store, offering free samples of XXXX. We have all seen these salespeople, usually while on vacation or at the XXXX, stand outside their store offering certain people free samples of XXXX. She asked me a question about my beauty routine, and when I told her, she said, Clearly, its not working, we laughed, breaking the ice.  She then started demonstrating and selling her products. I felt comfortable with her, or maybe it was the ambiance of the spa-like setup at the store, but I opened up, and we talked about my personal life. I remember telling her I was a XXXX XXXX of four who worked for the same XXXX XXXX that all my XXXX attended, and now the XXXX  had just XXXX  I remember telling her that I had an XXXX early that day and was given a volume because I suffered from extreme XXXX  She was engaged in the conversation; she seemed genuinely eager to help.  I ended up buying a single facial serum she was selling, and sampling the serum on my face cost about XXXX.  She claimed the serum would last many months and my face would tighten and rejuvenate. \n\nAs soon as I made the XXXX purchase, she said, \"Wait, I want to try something on you that I know you will love.  As she was holding the bag with the serum I just paid for, she walked towards the back of the store and said, Come, its okay. I want to try something on you. In her beautiful foreign accent.  She then took me behind the register to a separate part of the store with another vanity mirror and chair like the one in the front, a sofa, and a massage table.  She asked me to lie on the massage table, saying she would give me a facial and sample a new product. I was a little reluctant, but because I was still feeling the medication from the medical procedure I had undergone early that day, I sat down on the massage table. She then went for my purse and said, Here, relax, I told her no, that I wanted to hold on to my purse. Then she said, What? You dont trust me? I will just set it here, pointing to the vanity.  I agreed and allowed her to set my purse on the vanity. After all, I could see it. As she had me lay on my back, she was talking about this new small hand-held infrared machine she would use on me; she said, This is just like the one the dermatologist uses. she said the infrared light would peel the dead skin.  At this point, I was starting to feel extreme XXXX  the way she was working on me was very intrusive, as she had her entire body over my personal space and pretty much my whole face.  She was on the right side of me and was applying serums and using the miraculous  hand-held infrared machine on the left side of my face; she was very intentional in using her face and body over my face. All the while, she was whispering in my ear, she just kept talking and talking and trying to get me to agree to buy the machine.   She kept saying it was a XXXX dollar machine, but she was going to give it to me for XXXX.  This entire experience was very intense and scary. \n\nThis went on for what seemed like an eternity!  I couldnt get her to stop; she wasnt taking no for an answer.   This was one of the worst feelings I had ever felt. I didnt even know how to process what was happening.   I was in complete XXXX mode and almost near a XXXX XXXX My only option to get this lady off my personal space and for her to allow me to get up was to agree to the purchase.  At this point, I think I would have paid the XXXX  she wanted, anything to get up and out of this horrible situation.\n\n\"I mentioned that I would pay, and then she helped me sit up and handed me my purse. I reached in and took out my debit card, but something told me to use my Discover card instead. I handed her my Discover card because I felt it safer.  She immediately took the card and walked to the other side of the wall where the register was.  I was left on the table with my face full of lotions and potions.  She came around the corner and told me the card was declined; as soon as she said that, my phone went off in my purse.   I reached into my purse to look for my phone, and she stated, Its probably Discover; they just need you to approve the purchase, get your phone, get your phone.  As I grabbed my phone, she stood behind me, telling me that it was probably Discover,   I told her I couldnt see because she had left all the serum on my face, and I didnt have my glasses; she was now standing behind me, and she then reached over me and with her fingers started scrolling through the messages saying   here, here, just reply yes they just need your approval, JUST REPLY YES  She kept insisting while standing right behind me, touching me with her body, the last thing I wanted was her near me, so I replied YES, approving the Discover transaction.  She then returned to the other side of the wall, ran the card, and returned with a bag full of serums, the device, and the receipt.  \n\nI never signed the transaction on a machine or paper. Absolutely nothing was signed by me. I was sitting on the massage table behind the wall, behind the register with a ton of serum on the left side of my face in the back of the store without my glasses, and in complete shock as to what had just happened.  \n\nAt this point, she couldnt get me out of the store fast enough; her entire demeanor towards me changed.   She was rushing me out of the store with the bag full of what looked like the same XXXX  serum I had just paid for.  She didnt even whip my face! \n\nAs she was now escorting me out of the store, she stopped and said wait; you must open the box, referring to the small hand-held infrared XXXX machine.   She said she needed the serial number. She grabbed the bag, placed it on the closest mirrored vanity in front of the store, and opened the box; she said you must register it.  She then walked back towards the register and grabbed a paper and wanted me to sign it.  I told her I didnt have my glasses and I couldnt see.  She said, Its just so that you dont sell it on eBay.  I told her I could see and wouldnt sign.  She kept saying it was so that I wouldnt sell on eBay, but at this point, I didnt trust her. I couldnt see, I had tons of serum on my face, and I just walked away. \n\nThe very next day, after realizing everything that had taken place, I immediately called the store, and they referred me to the corporate office; I called the corporate they referred me back to the store, and games began.  I then drove to the store after work the next day, and the store was closed; I called and emailed corporate and didnt get a reply.  I drove to the store almost every day for the next XXXX days until I finally spoke with one of the neighboring businesses and asked them to call or text me when they saw someone at the store.  And so they did, XXXX XXXXays after the XXXX  purchase, I got a text from the XXXX at the clothing store next door, and my XXXX and I immediately drove to the location.  I immediately saw the same lady who had sold me the XXXX handheld machine, and I confronted her. \n\nThis encounter was videoed by my XXXX and I am more than eager to submit it as evidence.  \n\nThe first thing you will see in the video is the same sales associate at XXXX XXXX XXXX uses her body to intimidate us; she immediately moves her body so close to me that her body touches mine.  She starts whispering just like she did during my first encounter with her.  In the video, you will see her state she couldnt return the item per their own written policy because the device was open; she made this statement without even looking in the bag or verifying what was being returned.  You will also hear me confront her about not signing anything that day and telling her that I couldnt sign because I didnt have my glasses and couldnt see.   \n\n\nThe problem here isnt just the lies she told about what the machine would do but also the tactics she used and the fact that she wouldn't let me get up. Every time I said I wasn't interested in paying XXXX she would apply more serum and use the machine even more. I was lying on my back, she was sitting to my right, and she was applying serums and using the machine only on the left side of my face. For her to apply the serums and use the machine, her entire body was over my face, and her face was almost on top of mine. The way she was talking to me was very strange; she clearly had a motive to whisper in my ears, apply serums on my face, and invade my personal space, making me feel confined and restrained. I felt like I had no choice but to say yes, or she would never let me get up. I was in a complete XXXX\n\nIt's is also important to know that from my reseach, the XXXX device is not an authorized product that is sold in this franchise.   This product is not listed as an authorized product oXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.  More reseach is needed as to how and why is someone at an authorized franshise is selling unauthorized merchandize. \n\nAll this information was given to Discover, and Discover did absolutely nothing to help me. I asked them how someone charged my account using my debit card when I still had my debit card in possession and if there was anything I can do to help they said you have to wait until they are out of pending status to do anything and once clear they can start a dispute. Once the XXXX XXXX cleared which was the next day I called and asked to start the dispute process so I can get my money back in account and had them send me new cards for my account, they asked a few questions and I mentioned the XXXX transaction again and let them know that one was still pending but I still wanted to get the ball rolling they put me on hold came back and told me that transaction was canceled and now can add it to dispute I was frustrated and told them yous just had me wait a day for the bigger transaction to get out of pending status but just stopped that one he told me he didnt stop it that they did on their side ( XXXX XXXX but was canceled by the way while on hold came back and said it was canceled. So I filed the disputes and they were denied. I also encourage the manager to listen to all of my calls so there would not be any false information on my behalf because I know what I informed the representative that took the initial report. I have continued to check on the claim to be informed the claim was denied again. I have requested them to do a full investigation by obtaining video footage from the store to prove it was not me. They have failed to notify me of what they have received to investigate the claim. I have submitted the FTC report as well as Police Report. They are still alleging it was me that did this fraudulent transaction. It was not me. I had to start completely over by obtaining a new social security card and DL ( I have proof if need receipts ). My other banking was affected as well and not just NFCU. I have went to both store ( The XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX ) and they both indicated they do not keep video footage over 30 days. There is no way I could get any footage and I have been trying to get this issue resolved by doing my due diligence and turn in anything that will support my claim. Asking NFCU follow up questions of what need to be done. Little to no response. The only thing they have related is they are using information I have submitted and not telling me the facts. I did not authorize a transaction in that amount on XXXX XXXX or any time around that date. I filed a dispute with AMEX Serve on  XX/XX/2018. I also called the store to try to determine what happened that would cause that unauthorized transaction to be billed to my card. I spoke to the manager on duty whose name was XXXX. I provide her with the receipt numbers to investigate the transaction. She asked me to stop by the store so that she could see my receipts. When I arrived the manager reviewed my receipts to verify what I had shared with her over the phone. XXXX advised that she had pulled the video from their surveillance and was able to see when I was in the store as well as what I purchased with the two transactions I did that day. XXXX spent the next hour talking to me and her corporate office trying to determine how my card was billed for a transaction that occurred after I left the store. XXXX came back with a printed copy of the signed receipt with another consumer 's signature on the transaction slip with my card number. \n\nSince XX/XX/2018 I have filed four disputes with AMEX. Every dispute of this fraudulent transaction has been declined. Today ( XX/XX/2018 ) I spoke to XXXX who is filing an appeal to the most recent dispute that was declined by AMEX. \n\nNo consumer should have to go through what I have gone through to dispute a fraudulent transaction. This has been more stressful than any financial transaction I've conducted in my XXXX  years of life. AMEX refuses to issue a refund citing the merchant as the issue. I called the customer service department for XXXX ( they own XXXX XXXX   discounts ) and they are blaming AMEX for the transaction not being resolved. I do not mind paying if I am on the debt - as I have done so with other cards. However, I believe that this was only in my husband 's name. Instead, I consistently get treated poorly, get harassed by collectors - despite disputing the debt and asking them to stop calling - and get punted around seemingly eternally.
