After 4 years of struggle and nearing financial ruin and homelessness, I moved into my fathers home to provide care for him in the final years of his life. As all of this was happening, and I was still unable to earn substantial income and my efforts to restructure my mortgage were basically ignored and dismissed by my mortgage company, they began foreclosure proceedings in mid year of XX/XX/XXXX. It was at this time, in desperation I filed for bankruptcy with no more intention of following through with the process than just attempting to delay the inevitable final blow to my situation and to my psyche. I was finally beaten into submission, or so it seemed. As the process seemed so daunting and basically frivolous, I just gave up without ever following through and withdrew before the BK could complete the process and went into myself and lived a quiet seclusion in shame for the next several years. In retrospect, it was by far a stupid and senseless effort. As time has passed, I have begun to crawl out from under the pressure and shame the whole process has caused for me. If this were no longer a part of my story, it would be an incredible opportunity for which I would be extremely grateful. The bankruptcy filing was with Chase Mortgage and the mortgage itself began with Washington Mutual, which is no longer in existence as it was bought out by Chase Bank. At the time of filing, the mortgage was the one and only reason for filing, and it was a delay tactic which really didn't have a positive outcome. The credit annihilation that has been a result of all the above, is not something I am proud of or wish to ever endure again.
