While most Americans will automatically receive their Advance Child Tax Credit payments each month, you may need to provide information to the IRS in order to receive your money.

2. Did you have your main home in the United States for more than half the year?

4. Are you normally required to file taxes?

5. Did you file your taxes in either 2019 or 2020?

6. Did you provide information to the IRS to receive your Economic Impact Payment using the Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here tool?

7. Do you need to update your family, address, banking, or other information with the IRS or opt-out of monthly payments?

Go to the IRS Child Tax Credit Update Portal to update your information. Note: you may not be able to update everything immediately.

No action is needed. The IRS has your information and will automatically begin sending you a monthly payment in July 2021.
