Responsibilities

As a Supervisory Examiner (Assistant Regional Director), you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of managers by modeling the highest levels of integrity, stewardship of Bureau funds and the public’s trust, and ethical behavior. Set organizational tone and direction and actively promote an environment that fosters and sustains diversity, inclusion, knowledge sharing, and consensus building.
  • Serve as a strategic executive advisor to the Regional Director regarding policy and procedure issues, including those of a complex supervisory, enforcement and/or regulatory nature. Analyze and make recommendations to inform outcomes in novel situations, feed intelligence up to assist in directing the region, and judiciously escalate and filter incoming information.
  • Through subordinate supervisors, oversee—consistent with CFPB policies and protocols—a caseload of depository financial institutions and non-depository consumer financial services companies (regulated entities).
  • Oversee a large professional examination, compliance and analytical staff engaged in monitoring regulated entities’ compliance in-between examinations with respect to consumer protection, fair lending, and other public interest laws, regulations and agency policy statements.
  • Keep abreast of changing policies, laws and regulations (including those related to unfair, deceptive, abusive, or discriminatory products, services, acts, and practices) and operates in undefined, new and unprecedented areas of policy, program, organizational, consumer and industry concerns.
