This position is located in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Supervision, Enforcement and Fair Lending Division, Supervision Policy. This position is responsible for overseeing, as a first-level supervisor, the CFPB Office of Supervision Policy’s programs and staff in connection with certain institutional product lines as assigned and other matters as assigned.

As a Supervisory Attorney Advisor, you will:

  • Plan, implement, and manage short- and long-range objectives and strategies for building and maintaining the legal compliance oversight program in the Assistant Deputy’s assigned institutional product lines or compliance areas.
  • Lead the substantive legal compliance program reporting to the Principal Deputy and Assistant Director of Supervision Policy, the Office of Supervision Examinations Senior Leadership Team, and other key leaders at CFPB.
  • Supervise the written factual and legal analysis involving the Assistant Deputy’s functional area, including preparation and review of written work product including internal briefing memoranda, memoranda to the Legal Division and the Office of Regulations seeking non-objection to legal citations, examination-related documents (such as PARR letters and ARC memoranda), external and internal reports, speeches, and memoranda, and testimony and correspondence to Congress.
  • Supervise quantitative and qualitative analysis of regulated entities to determine the risk to consumers in the marketplace for financial product/service industries and determine whether risk assessments meet the statutory requirements.
