THIS IS A VOLUNTARY REASSIGNMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR CURRENT CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU EMPLOYEES AT THE CN-71, OR HIGHER PAY BAND WHO ARE WILLING TO TAKE A VOLUNTARY CHANGE TO LOWER PAY BAND.

This position is located in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Research Markets and Regulations Division, Office of Regulations.

Responsibilities

As a Managing Counsel, Regulations you will:

  • Manage a workforce of attorneys and support staff within the Division of Regulations. Ensure work is accomplished in accordance with established and emerging policy and practice.
  • Manage significant, complex rule-making projects and policy proposals. Formulate conclusions and recommendations, and present findings to senior CFPB management.
  • Oversee the formulation, implementation and interpretation of consumer credit and financial services laws, regulations and rules.
  • Oversee the preparation of draft legislation and rules, amendments to policies, Congressional testimony, official CFPB interpretations, and analyses of proposed legislation, rules and policies.
  • Speak authoritatively on consumer financial services laws and other regulatory matters and represents CFPB at meetings and conferences.
