This position is located in the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, Operations Division, Chief Administrative Office. The incumbent is responsible for policy development and program assessment of CFPB’s records management program. The incumbent ensures integration of records management program requirements into all aspects of CFPB operations.

The following are the duties of this position at the CN-52 (Broadly equivalent to the GS-12). If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

As a Records Management Information Specialist, you will:

  • Recommend and draft records management guidelines for agency-wide application in the areas of proper records management, protection, retrieval and destruction of federal records maintained in media, and participate in the monitoring of their implementation.
  • Participate in the facilitation, development and maintenance of filing systems consistent with administrative, legal, and financial requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal staff for the proper utilization of an electronic records management system and the maintenance of agency records.
