Summary

This position is located in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Office of the Chief Operations Officer, Chief Data Officer (CDO), Privacy Team. The Privacy Team is tasked with ensuring that Privacy Act law, regulations, and practices are integrated into all aspects of CFPB operations.

Responsibilities

As a Privacy Program Analyst, you will:

  • Provide guidance in the development and establishment of Privacy policies and procedures to ensure that significant Privacy issues are identified and addressed. Monitor Federal law, regulation, and policy for changes that affect privacy.
  • Review policy guidelines, standard operating procedures, and significant issues to identify systemic trends indicating the need to update CFPB Privacy policies, procedures, or training. Recommend the adoption and application of new methods and approaches to ensure program or project requirements are aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Guidance, and Handbooks for the privacy team and other teams that use, share, or have responsibility for sensitive information. Develop and oversee implementation of policies and programs required by law to personal records under the Privacy Act, E-Government Act, or other privacy guidance, through the entire lifecycle of Bureau information systems. Monitor portfolio offices to ensure adherence to governing directives and instructions. Provide training to CFPB employees outside the Privacy Team on how to incorporate appropriate privacy protections into all relevant aspects of CFPB operations.
