Advise the Director and Bureau components on the Bureau’s authorities and jurisdiction, the interpretation of Federal consumer financial statutes and regulations, and matters of administrative law. Work in this area ensures the Bureau takes consistent and well supported legal positions across the range of agency functions, including rulemaking, supervision, enforcement, and consumer education.
Research and provide written and/or oral analyses to answer complex legal questions and address issues relating to constitutional and administrative law, consumer finance law, the Dodd-Frank Act, and other laws and regulations arising out of the CFPB’s exercise of its rulemaking, supervisory, enforcement, and other authorities.
Review rulemaking and other documents, research and provide written and/or oral analyses to answer questions regarding the effects of provisions of proposed legislation, or proposed changes in agency policies or regulations.
